Depression-A life taking mind disorder

Depression can be said a mood disorder. It is a feeling of sadness, anger and loss that affect everyday life of a person. It is very common in our life but sometimes it can be very severe and a person can take his life because of depression.

Some conditions get worse because of depression such as asthma, cancer, arthritis, obesity, diabetes, etc.

Depression is said to be a serious medical condition that can get worse without proper treatment. Those who seek treatment often see improvements in symptoms in just a few weeks.

Every person can suffer from this mood disorder, in this situation, one should have someone whom he can share any problem. A someone can be anyone ( from family, parents or friend).


Being unhappy can't be same as depression. A person can be unhappy due to many reasons. Depression can be much defined as mood after a bad week. If we talk about mood disorder then it is much complicated. Read below mentioned signs to see if its time to see a mental health professional-

1. Uncontrollable emotions:

Depressions can cause mood swings, so if your are not having control on your emotions then it means you are getting emotionally weaker so its a sign of depression.



2. Hopeless outlook towards life:

Having a hopeless outlook on your life is most comman symptom of depression. Common thoughts of depression may be expressed as, "It's all my fault." or "What's the point." or "My life is of no use."




3. Lost Interest:

The things you love and enjoyed a lot earlier but now you don't so its a sign of depression as depression can take pleasure of things you love.




4. Increased sleep problems:

Sometimes you feel lack of energy, feeling of fatigue, or not getting proper sleep or not getting any sleep so its a sign of depression. Amnesia can be linked with depression and vice versa.




5. Changes in diet & weight:

This experience can be different for each person, some will have increased diet and weight and some will have decreased or no hunger and weight loss suddenly so its a sign of depression.




6. Looking at death:

Its the most dangerous thought and its a direct sign of depression. Its the end of everything and a person who is depressed thinks to end life and commit suicide.



Suicide is not an appropriate option as there are many remedies for depression. Depression affects our brain very much. It include guilt, sadness or may be described as feeling of hopelessness. Some people can't even explain their emotions in words.


A depressed person can be identified, we just have to observe strange activities of a person, and if there is any sign of depression in that person then we should help that person.

Depression affects millions of people but there are many remedies to cure depression, you just have to give your life a chance.
